My Favourite Patios in West Kelowna Right Now

By Erin McLeod  |  West Kelowna & Okanagan Real Estate
As a realtor, I spend a lot of time showing homes around West Kelowna and telling people where everything is. The question I get asked most isn’t about property taxes or school catchments — it’s “where should we eat?” Priorities. always. So here’s my short list. Three patios, all on the Westside, no bridge traffic required. Nobody paid me to say any of this — these are just where you’ll actually find me. And because I believe happy hour is actually the happiest of hours, I’ve included those too. In my opinion, it is one of the best times to be on a patio — the light is best, the drinks are cheapest, and everyone can pretend this was a very practical decision.

19 Okanagan at Two Eagles

The largest patio on the Westside and officially one of Canada’s Top 100 — which I assume was decided by someone with a very good job. You're looking over Two Eagles Golf Course with Okanagan Lake behind it, watching other people golf badly while you eat fish tacos. The menu goes from Certified Angus steak to family-friendly, and nobody will judge your flip flops. This summer there's a mussels special that is to die for (from a very big mussel aficionado).  When the weather turns, they have the Summerhouse — a covered patio with floor-to-ceiling accordion glass doors, because apparently we’ve decided patio season is a right, not a privilege. Correct.
The happiest of hours: daily from 2–5 p.m.
Go for: the nights you want a lake view but refuse to put on real shoes.

The Modest Butcher at Mt. Boucherie

Tucked into Mt. Boucherie Estate Winery in Lakeview Heights, with a covered patio looking over the lake and the Westside Wine Trail vineyards. The name says modest; the steaks scream otherwise. The menu leans into meats sourced close to home, Okanagan producers all over the menu, and the kind of “quick lunch” that somehow ends at 4 pm with a second bottle and no regrets. I’ve seen it happen. Repeatedly. To me. Also, if West Kelowna had a Who’s Who of good-looking people, there’s a strong case that it meets on this patio.
The happiest of hours: generally listed as daily from 2–5-ish p.m. — but I’d double-check before going, because “ish” usuallys means extended
Go for: a long lunch you’ll describe as “a meeting.”

Old Vines at Quails’ Gate

The Mama Bear. The classic. Old Vines is where I take out-of-town guests when I want them to stop asking why I live here. The patio sits above rows of vines running straight down toward the lake — it’s almost unfair to the food, which then goes ahead and holds its own anyway. It’s wine-led, seasonal, and very Okanagan in the best way. And if you want something more casual, The Market at Quails’ Gate is also worth knowing about — wood-fired pizza, café-style takeout, charcuterie, salads, wine, and picnic-style seating for those days when you want the view without committing to a full restaurant reservation. Or, honestly, for the days when you are not in the mood to be the mother repeatedly telling everyone to sit down properly and stop being so loud.
The happiest of hours: daily from 2:30–5 p.m.
Go for: anniversaries, celebrations, takeout pizza with a view, or quietly converting visitors into buyers.

And that’s really the point. All three of these are within about ten minutes of each other. This is not a special-occasion map — it’s just the neighbourhood. If you’re thinking about Lakeview Heights, Shannon Lake, or anywhere on this side of the bridge, understand that “running errands” here occasionally ends on a winery patio.  It’s the burden we carry.

Thinking about making the Westside home? Happy to show you around — the houses, the neighbourhoods and yes, obvi, nthe patios too.
